Frontier Stories

Frontier Stories is Sidewinder Sam’s ongoing collection of songs inspired by the real history of the American West — emigrant trails, Indigenous nations, exploration, frontier conflicts, ranching, mining, railroads, and the ordinary people who lived through all of it.

These songs try to sit with that history honestly. No side of the frontier gets written as simply the hero or simply the villain — the aim is to tell true, human stories, not build a myth.

The subjects below are research entries for the series. A subject is marked “released” only once an actual song for it is out — everything else is still just a note in the journal.
